FAMILY SERVICE LEAGUE is Hiring a PART-TIME BILINGUAL CASE MANAGER Near Bay Shore, NY

Established in 1926, Family Service League is a social services agency who provides comprehensive services to individuals, children, and families to improve the quality of their lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. With more than 60 social service and mental health programs in over 20 locations, Family Service League is committed to serving Long Island’s most vulnerable citizens.

SUMMARY

Family Service League is seeking a part-time Bilingual Case Manager for our Alternatives for Youth (AFY) Program. The Alternatives for Youth Program is designed to avert the referral of youth to the Suffolk County PINS Probation System. This is achieved through care coordination between the Family Support Workers and the families, as they provide services and education with an emphasis on promoting positive change. Bilingual in Spanish required. 19.5 hours per week. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Case Manager will provide linkage, coordination, advocacy, and mentoring.
  • Engage families in conflict management and skill building.
  • The Case Manager will provide direct services, including anger management and parenting skills to youth and parents to avoid involvement with the juvenile justice system.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain electronic health records of all services provided.
  • The Case Manager will conduct home visits throughout Suffolk County.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s Degree and 3 years of related experience or Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience required.

Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required. 

Excellent organizational skills and ability to work as a team required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.

Passion to work with teens who demonstrate at risk behaviors.

Valid and clean NYS Driver's License required.

Flexibility to work 2 evenings a week required.

Travel required. 

Bilingual in Spanish required.
