Family Tree Secured LLC is Hiring a Religious Education Coordinator Near Sumter, SC

Job description

The ideal candidate shall serve as the primary coordinator of the Religious Education program which is under the responsibility of the assigned Chaplain.

Location: Shaw Air Force Base – Sumter, SC 29152

Hours: This is a part-time position - 20 hrs. per week (Sun thru Sat-to include weekday and weekend office hours).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and track a 10-month calendar of Religious Education (RE) events, from September to June, and a teacher training session, between July to August, to be compiled from chapel input and presented for approval at the June or July Parish Council meeting.
  • Construct an annual calendar of events/classes available to the parents of all RE students no later than (NLT) August each year.
  • Assist the Protestant Community in the organization of Religious Programs. This includes organizing one Family or Marriage Retreat in the spring and one Community retreat in the fall.
  • Coordinate and provide a 3–5-day Protestant Camp between the months of Jun-Aug.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as preparing publicity material, submitting requests for curriculum and supplies for succeeding quarters to the Chapel staff, updating the continuity file, accessing event effectiveness, developing an RE annual calendar of events, and coordinating RE program budget requirements with the Chapel staff.
  • Track monthly attendance and provide the resulting data to the Chapel staff as needed.
  • Submit all facility use requests, to include off site and alternate locations, to the Protestant Chaplain for coordination and approval.
  • Thoroughly familiarize and comply with all Operating Instructions.
  • Inventory, stock, and maintain all RE program materials quarterly.
  • Ensure all volunteers/teachers working under the RE program have a complete and favorable criminal background check on file with the Chapel staff prior to the start of any work and before having direct interaction with children under the age of 18 in association with this contract.
  • Be present for a minimum of 2 hours during all Religious Education classes, between the hours of 9:00am EST and 7:00pm EST, on each RE Sunday.
  • Ensure all RE programs/events begin and end on time as scheduled.

Qualifications

  • Must be available for up to 20 hrs. per week (Sunday thru Saturday, to include weekday and weekend office hours).
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in education and/or a minimum of two years-experience as a Director of Religious Education (DRE) in chapels or churches with a program consisting of preschool children through adults.
  • Must be an active, practicing Protestant Christian. Contractor shall submit a Pastoral reference along with a resume for the purpose of validating good standing within the church community.
  • Have knowledge of military protocol or be willing to learn.
  • The contractor shall possess computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Have an ability to work unsupervised in a fluid environment with staff, parents, and children.
  • Be able to constructively work with chapel staff and the public in a pluralistic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must have reliable transportation with adequate, up to date vehicle insurance.

Dress Code: Business Casual (highly recommended)

Hourly rate of pay: $16.00 – $18.00
