Job Description

Summary/Objective :

The Director is responsible for the oversight of all health centers activities in the region and the productivity of all staff members to improve performance, increase quality outcomes, and provide comprehensive care to patients in the communities they serve. The Director will actively promote, and role model, the values of the organization.

Essential Functions :

  • Leads and supervises two direct and approximately 50 indirect team members
  • Accountable for the quality and productivity of all team members
  • Develops direct reports through bi-weekly meetings and at least once monthly management team meetings
  • Develops all team members through role modeling, presentations, and learning experiences
  • Clearly sets job expectations and holds team members to those expectations and their job descriptions
  • Serves as a second-tier supervisor and mediator for employee issues
  • Engages in difficult conversations when needed and immediately address behavioral issues
  • Willingly role models the company’s Patient First principles
  • Ensures team members adhere to all Federal, State, and local regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Seamlessly uses IT software as needed to review data
  • Consistently organized and prepared to fully engage in meetings
  • Pro-actively run, analyze, and develop solutions for clinical and operational issues
  • Regularly brief the Vice President, Health Center Operations on the analysis of clinical and operational performance metrics and provide recommended solutions
  • Routinely engages with other directors and management teams to increase communication, coordination, collaboration, and action recognizing that FamilyCare Health Center, while broken into regions, is one ambulatory care system
  • Encourages self and team members to be innovative in thinking, leading to process improvements to improve patient care and administrative functions.
  • Contributes to budget and strategic planning with peers and the executive leadership team
  • Facilitates and oversees the development of FamilyCare Health Centers operational and clinical policies and procedures for approval by the Vice President, Health Centers Operations & Chief Nursing Officer
  • Communicates effectively and professionally relevant practice and/or information with subordinates, peers, and supervisor.
  • Anticipates changing needs of areas of responsibility and takes appropriate steps to meet those needs before the change will occur
  • Establish a collaborative working relationship with community members and enhance the role and awareness of the health center in the communities we serve.

• Other duties as assigned.

Competencies :

    • Ability to perform oversight of all health centers

    • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) (additional years of medical practice experience can substitute for education requirement)
    • Minimum of five years of health care experience, including three years of practice management experience
    • Strong analytic skills, problem-solving and critical thinking
    • Outstanding written, verbal communication, and computer skills
Supervisory Responsibilities :
    • Directs two staff members and oversees approximately 50 indirect team members
    • Work Environment : Inside health centers
