Wages and Benefits

$20 - $22 per hour; paid vacation time, sick time, plus nine paid holidays and three floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance; Health Savings Account (HSA), and options for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), employer paid basic life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance with the option for additional coverage, and employer paid short- and long-term disability insurance; agency sponsored retirement plan with immediate vesting, plus a 3% employer match.

Schedule

This position assists the Supervised Parenting Program Manager with specific administrative duties related to the Supervised Parenting Department, including supporting the team every Saturday and Sunday during the day. This full-time position will also require weekday and evening work with a minimum of 2 days off per week. The specific schedule will be discussed at time of hire.

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as FamilyWise’s Supervised Parenting Coordinator provides an opportunity to administratively support the Supervised Parenting Program Department. It will also include Supervised Parenting Monitor functions to support the fostering and development of healthy family relationships by facilitating visitations and providing parent education curriculum to the families served.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Family Intake & Administration

  • Supporting the Manager of Direct Service in overseeing all service delivery at both locations. Required to work on Saturdays and Sundays and at least two to three weekdays/evenings as assigned, as well as attending the weekly supervision meeting with manager during the week.
  • Providing support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and interns.
  • Answering phone calls and emails to provide clear, concise information regarding the process for intake.
  • Entering data for families into the database on an immediate basis.
  • Conducting Zoom and over-the-phone intakes for all levels of supervised parenting.
  • Scheduling families at Minneapolis or Saint Paul locations.
  • Communicating professionally via phone, email and text with families, social workers, GALS and other stakeholders.
  • Data Integrity: pulling data for data audits and correcting all errors; entering families into client track; pulling data for billing review and correcting errors; assisting with funder data reporting requirements.
  • Providing training, on-going support, and supervision for interns and new staff.
  • Processing of subpoenas and reviewing Private Pay Payments.

Direct Service

  • Screening families upon arrival to their parenting time to identify and support family strengths, needs and natural supports.
  • Managing family conflict by supporting parent’s problem-solving skills while ensuring child safety.
  • Using approved parent education curriculum(s) to support positive parenting.
  • Providing feedback to the parents regarding age-appropriate boundary setting, discipline, empathy, family roles, and nurturing skills.
  • Ensuring parental compliance with agency policies and court orders. Redirecting parents as needed during visits.
  • Immediately inform supervisor of concerns that you are unable to resolve with the family independently.

Documentation

  • Documenting and recalling facts in a clear, detailed and concise manner using professional writing skills.
  • Using technology to accurately enter data into agency database.
  • Sharing documentation in a timely manner with social workers, guardians ad litem and other court personnel as directed.

Safety and Cleaning

  • Cleaning surfaces using safe and effective cleaning supplies.
  • Mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping work areas.
  • Identifying hazards in the environment, troubleshooting, creating work orders, and bringing concerns to the attention of the Manager/Facilities.

Who You Are

  • You have at least two years of experience working in a Human Services field, as well as experience working with children and families (preferred).
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in the Human Service or related field, or are in the process of obtaining a degree in the Human Service or a related field, such as psychology, child development, social work or family social science.
  • You have experience training and supervising staff and interns (highly desired).
  • Your problem solving, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills are strong.
  • You have excellent professional boundaries and are willing to intervene on behalf of children when parents do not follow agency policies.
  • You have excellent professional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • You have knowledge of child development and effective parenting skills.
  • You have experience with hiring, onboarding, training and coaching staff and interns
  • You are flexible and open-minded in working with families and colleagues as well as flexible in scheduling availability.
  • You’re available to work every Saturday and Sunday plus some weekday evenings (required).
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet FamilyWise’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
