OrganizationLaunched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings Inc., a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to nearly 93% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates nineteen retail locations including retail sportsbooks outside of Progressive Field and Nationwide Arena and the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Commanders Field. Fanatics Betting and Gaming is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver and Dublin, Ireland.
- Supports the strategic direction of the VIP Program acting as liaison between the Regulatory Affairs and VIP Departments as well as other adjacent business-lines.
- Serves as a subject-matter expert on and ensures strict adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and industry best practices including responsible gaming, AML and sanctions, and state regulatory regimes.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the VIP cohort from a compliance perspective including, but not limited to, facilitating source of wealth and source of funds requests, conducting enhanced due diligence reviews, fielding inbound responsible gaming and AML escalations from the broader Regulatory Affairs team, interfacing with the VIP team on higher risk payment methodologies and sensitive customer documentation, and monitoring the overall VIP Program for responsible gaming and AML issues.
- Conducts regular syncs and meetings with the VIP Hosts and other stakeholders including the broader Regulatory Affairs Department, AML, Responsible Gaming, Payments and Fraud, Operations, Product, and Engineering.
- Assists in the development of and is responsible for the execution of robust procedures and controls around the UHNW VIP cohort including, but not limited to, real-time monitoring and assessment of pending transactions.
- Develops and delivers training to the VIP Team around responsible gaming, AML and sanctions, and other related topical areas.
- Produces robust metrics and KPIs for both Regulatory Affairs and VIP leadership with a focus on identifying trends, issues, and operational efficiency opportunities.
- At least 5 years of total experience with prior work in a legal, compliance, or regulatory role with a law firm, financial institution, online sportsbook operator, casino or other gaming establishment, or within another highly regulated industry. Applicants should be experienced with and comfortable in engaging with high-net worth individuals and public figures. JDs preferred but not required.
- Autonomous self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced upstart environment. Must have a positive attitude, be nimble and pragmatic, be comfortable fielding urgent requests and issues on nights and weekends if they arise, and possess excellent communication skills with a particular emphasis on being able to synthesize complex information into easily understandable decisions.
- Where applicable, must be able to acquire and maintain applicable gaming, racing, and/or other licenses.
