What You will Do:

  • Provide strategic support for business partners in the development of business plans, technology roadmaps, cost-benefit analyses, and board communications.
  • Identify opportunities and facilitate transformative improvements to operating models and systems and serve as an executive sponsor for projects.
  • Leads and evaluates business technology solutions and infrastructure on initiatives across business technologies & established standards to make certain that solutions are modern, reliable, flexible, and scalable.
  • Ensure that delivery team leaders maintain efficient and high-quality integrations and align with governance, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage the Technology Services budget. Forecast expense projections to meet budget requirements. Manage departmental resources to ensure operations and initiatives are efficient and within established budget parameters.
  • Oversee reporting standards and operational metrics that drive the technology lifecycle.
  • Provide a robust, consistent, and capable Service Center supporting FBL employees and agents.
  • Provide a 24x7 Production Operations capability supporting ongoing business operations, processing, and functions.
  • Establish key metrics and measures to track, analyze, and improve systems performance, availability, and recoverability.
  • Understands and evaluates emerging trends, technology industry, disruptions, competitors, and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models. Sponsor and provide direction for our Cloud Center of Enablement and transformation.
  • Establish, manage, and continually improve key IT Service Management capabilities supporting business requirements, including Incident Response, Problem Management, Change Control, and Configuration Management.
  • Provide for the ability to effectively and efficiently recover from disasters affecting IT capabilities.

What it takes to join our team:

  • Ability to interface with top management. Strong executive presence.
  • College degree (Computer Science, mathematics, business administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred) or equivalent experience required.
  • Ten or more years of progressive related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives, and delivering results within a management information systems and complex matrix environment required.
  • Ability to build consensus, make decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and operations management.
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple IT platforms and company standards as well as current application developments required.
  • Must understand the inter-relationship between business and technological needs.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging I&O technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them.
  • Experience leading cloud adoption (at scale), including establishing governance mechanisms, delivering migration projects, and modifying I&O's target operating model.
  • Strong analytical/conceptual thinking skills, technical systems knowledge, and problem-solving skills are required.
