SCHEDULE: Full Time
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 5%
COMPENSATION: $70,615.00 to $169,806.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our OpportunityOur IT Business Analyst help facilitate communication with Business Owners (BO), development teams, and business stakeholders as necessary using Agile methodologies. Team members in this role elicit business requirements (features & stories) for incoming project requests, and manage the product backlog. The BA will assist in identifying and detailing the conditions of acceptance for upcoming stories. They ask business stakeholders probing questions to verify the development team understands the requested work and is expected to understand business processes so to identify possible enhancements for the business and improve the value to the end user.
How You Will Spend Your Time
  • Employ Agile practices and lead the effort in defining features, stories and COAs.
  • Manage requirements, use case, and artifact gathering processes and clearly communicate to the business and technical team members what is needed.
  • Ask probing questions to fully understand stories with the ability to provide feedback on possible implications of any and all requests.
  • Accurately and concisely articulate issues, questions, and recommendations to business stakeholders, team members, and management.
  • Works with the business owners to manage the expectations for project completion.
  • Understand the “as-is” and “to-be” business processes as needed to confirm all parties are working toward the same goal.
  • Model expected system interactions, particularly when software is being developed.
  • Look for gaps in data requirements between what is in place and what is needed.
  • Model data requirements or work with the appropriate people to verify that the data will support the new solution.
  • Create mock-ups of the new user interfaces as needed.
  • Support the business owner and operations team by discussing business and technical impacts of and dependencies related to priority decisions.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and Quality Assurance (QA) in developing user scenarios as needed.
  • Work with continuous improvement initiatives to identify and document system recommendations for current and future development.
  • Work with users to update business processes and procedures guidelines.
Minimum Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, accounting, computer science or related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
A minimum of 4 years direct experience in a business analyst role or one year of direct experience developing business requirements, test plans or implementing systems. Strong project management skills, oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills necessary; understanding of agile processes with some exposure to related projects expected.
Mental & Physical RequirementsWhile engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
