About this Role:

The Head of Distribution and Logistics at Farmer’s Fridge is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive distribution network, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery to all Points of Distribution (PODs). This pivotal role involves managing the distribution organization, including drivers and logistics functions, to optimize and expand routing strategies for maximum efficiency. You will also oversee the installation and maintenance of fridges, manage cost centers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Partnering with leadership and the revenue team to drive growth and achieve market expansion, this role is critical in shaping the logistics landscape of the company. We seek a dynamic leader committed to operational excellence and innovation, ensuring Farmer’s Fridge delivers exceptional fresh food solutions efficiently and effectively.

What You’ll Do:

• Market Distribution Oversight 
  • Ensure timely, accurate and cost-efficient delivery to all Points of Distribution (PODs).
  • Supervise all fulfillment and distribution activities to maintain efficiency and innovate on the process to improve cost structure and scale delivery capabilities.
  • Monitor market-specific distribution to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Manage all fulfillment and distribution cost centers, taking responsibility for cost targets and managing teams to achieve them.
  • Own the bottom of the supply chain, responsible for the product the moment it leaves the manufacturing plant until delivered to PODs

• Logistics Functions
  • Oversee all logistics functions, including line hauls, middle mile, and final mile operations.
  • Optimize and expand routing strategies to improve delivery efficiency. 
  • Manage headcount based on capacity and routing optimization.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers to optimize and expand operational capacity.
• Fridge Operations
  • Oversee the installation of new fridges (vending machines) to ensure timely deployment.
  • Manage the maintenance of fridges to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage fridge and spare parts inventory for efficient deployment and servicing. 
  • Coordinate with third-party maintenance and installation providers for efficient operations.
• Cost Management
  • Manage all fixed and variable costs related to Delivery and Fulfillment, including direct and fixed labor expenses.
  • Develop and monitor budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
  • Own the P&L for fulfillment 
• Compliance and Process Optimization
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Create and implement scalable processes to support business growth.
  • Define operational guardrails to maintain high standards of service.
  • Develop strategies for expansion based on ROI analysis.
  • Continuously review and improve processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build a data-centric culture and utilize metrics, OKRs, goals to drive strategic direction for org. 
• Sales Partnership and Growth
  • Partner with the sales team to enable growth and achieve as much of the Total Addressable Market (TAM) as possible.
  • Align logistics and distribution strategies with sales goals to support market expansion.
  • Collaborate on identifying and seizing new business opportunities.

Who You Are...

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale distribution networks and logistics operations.
• Experience managing a cold chain in the food and beverage industry or a similar field is highly desirable.
• Operations, fulfillment, consulting, and start-up experience desired 

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in managing managers and team leads.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost management and optimization.
• Proficiency in logistics software and technology, including route optimization and tracking systems.
• Ability to develop and implement scalable processes and strategies for business growth.
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales and operations.
