Farmington Public Schools Vacancy: Head Monitor for Irving A Robbins Middle School Position is 7.0 hours per day, school year; medical benefits and PTO included General Description: The Head Monitor engages in a variety of monitoring activities to provide order and safety throughout the school. This includes oversight and management of the adult team of monitors. The Head Monitor is responsible for supervising student behavior and engaging students in restorative learning in partnership with the school’s administrators. The Head Monitor also supports initiatives related to positive school culture and climate. The Head Monitor leads the other monitors in the building in actions that support the mission and vision of the school.
Qualifications:
Candidate should hold a high school diploma or college level degree. A law enforcement background is preferred.
Candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate with students while maintaining order with large student groups
Candidate should demonstrate the ability to monitor visitors and follow visitor sign in procedures.
Consideration will be given to the following

Ability to control order with groups of students
Ability to control order with visitors to the school building and follow all visitor sign in policies and procedures
Ability to follow all safety and security policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities: Monitors
Salary: $22.66-$27.32/hour depending on experience
Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, school year
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain student order in assigned areas
Prepare reports, as required
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
Maintain all visitor policies and procedures
Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and secure school environment
Demonstrate ability to communicate with visitors, students and all members of the school community
Manage team of monitors, assists with hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary action
Demonstrate respect for students, visitors and all members of the school community
Make sound judgements and have good problem solving skills
Other related duties, as assigned
