FarrWest is Hiring an Equipment Repair Technician - Apprentice (FT) Near Schertz, TX

Position Summary:
The Equipment Repair Tech Apprentice will receive on-job-training to maintain & repair air & water detection equipment for Fire, Hazmat, Police, State & Local Agencies and Engineering firms.
When not traveling to the customer locations, they will be receiving customer walk-in service requests and overall maintenance of equipment, working with the equipment team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble and reassemble various brands & types of digital air/water detection equipment while performing routine maintenance, diagnosis and repairs on-site at various locations.
  • Over time, gain an understanding of the CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives) industry.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on higher technology equipment such as airborne drones and robotic Quadrupeds.
  • Document equipment calibrations, diagnoses, and repairs and upload to the company system.
  • With on-the-job training, answer questions and instruct users on the functional use of equipment.
  • Communicate & manage scheduled maintenance visits to Fire/Hazmat, Police, City/State stations with First Responders.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
  • Work independently without much supervision after hands-on training.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 4 days every other week.
  • Lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift, squat, kneel, stoop, bend, lay down, twist, climb, stand, and sit for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to assemble small parts, on delicate digital instrumentation.
  • Good eyesight and color vision.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • High level of customer service soft skills and customer-oriented demeanor.
