Business: Boys Town National Research Hospital Job Summary: In a career as an EEG Lab Assistant, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will provide clerical and patient support to the Registered EEG Technologists in the outpatient setting and inpatient setting in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and may assist with patients in the Advanced Care Unit (ACU). Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday Location: West Hospital MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Transports and escorts patients from the admissions area to the outpatient rooms for EEG procedure when notified of arrival and patient is checked in. Prepares outpatient rooms before and in between patient appointments. Assists the EEG Technologist with electrode application on outpatients, as needed. Observes and monitors patients in the EMU, using intercom to communicate as necessary for patient safety purposes and to maintain quality recordings. Cleans outpatient EEG rooms and electrodes between patients, when deemed necessary by the R.EEGT's. Makes DVD's of the studies upon request and transports them to Medical Records with proper patient information to be mailed or picked up by patient. Enters billing and discharge information in SIS, Nextgen5 and financials after EEG is complete. Logs patients into procedure journal. Takes patient demographic information and documents to Medical Records after billing is completed. Orders supplies. Reviews EEG schedule for any conflicts. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. BLS certification required. Strong communication skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft systems required.
