Essential Functions
- Follow best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues if able, communicate with management when needed.
- Transport, unload and deliver items in a safe and secure manner to prevent damage or loss.
- Ensure all donated items meet acceptability requirements.
- Communicate timely and clearly with team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist in overseeing the work of the Assistant Drivers.
- Complete logs and reports.
- Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
- Keep interior and exterior of truck clean and organized.
- May assist in warehouse when needed.
- May be required to flex hours to support all areas of the business.
- Work safely at all times and notify the company of any safety related issues immediately.
- On time completion of assigned training and policies
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver's license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.
- At least 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle with air brakes
- Basic user of MS Office.
- Reliable, dependable and punctual.
- Energetic with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented.
- Able to work in an atmosphere of strict deadlines and handle competing needs
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Knowledge of routing software a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be granted where appropriate
