Job Posting: Dermatology Medical Assistant

Description:Serving three locations on the south side of Metro Atlanta, Fayette Area Dermatology is a well established dermatology office, dedicated to providing our patients exceptional care. We offer medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in Fayetteville, Griffin, and Zebulon, GA. The medical assistant uses knowledge of dermatology and general nursing to support the physician in scribing, working-up the patient, and assisting in procedures. They are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information in the electronic medical record to allow the best possible continuation of care.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a drive to help others and is dedicated to organization and accuracy. They will have strong communication skills and should be able to learn quickly. We have a strong preference for candidates who are pre-med or pre-PA and may be taking a gap year to gain experience during the application process.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures
• Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
• Take patient medical histories and vital signs
• Assist dermatologist with patient examinations and procedures
• Educate patients on proper skincare techniques and post-treatment care
• Perform basic dermatological procedures under the supervision of the dermatologist (e.g., wound care, suture removal)
• Prepare and maintain medical instruments and equipment
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and filing medical records
• Handle patient inquiries and provide information on dermatological treatments and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic or office environment
• Adhere to medical laws, regulations, and ethical standards in patient care and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistants highly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
• Good phone presence and ability to communicate effectively with patients
• Dermatology experience preferred
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
