Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The School of Social Work at Fayetteville State University prepares competent social work professionals at undergraduate and graduate levels, promotes lifelong learning, and enhances the well-being of individuals, children, and families residing in rural, urban, and military communities throughout North Carolina, and globally.
Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:
This is a tenure track position.
The BSW Assistant Professor position is a 9-month position. The successful applicant may teach primarily in the undergraduate program but may be responsible for teaching graduate courses in an online or face-2-face format as well as providing academic advisement to students. The applicant will be responsible for teaching three (3) social work courses per semester and assisting in the preparation of the CSWE accreditation reaffirmation self-study for BSW Program. Maintain regular and predictable attendance on campus.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a Doctorate in Social Work
  • MSW degree,
  • Two-years post-MSW practice experience.
  • Administration experience and teaching experience at the BSW level.
  • This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research capacity and the potential to generate external research funding.

* Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist highly preferred
