Career Services (CS) is looking for motivated, hard-working undergraduate or graduate students to join our team. The Peer Career Coach program is comprised of a group of enthusiastic student leaders
who recognize the value of career services and want to support/serve their fellow peers with the career development process. PCCs are responsible for providing peers with writing resumes, cover letters, and scholarship/graduate school applications; they help students identify resources for career exploration; and assist students with locating information for internships, fellowships, summer, and part-time and fulltime job searches. PCCs assist the professional staff in planning and presenting workshops, coordinating events, and organizing special programs. They also assist with advertising the services and programs of Career Services through campus outreach to students, student groups, and classes. PCCs provide information to peers who may not be aware of career services.

Major Responsibilities:
* Serve as student ambassadors of the Office of Career Services
* Provide excellent customer service to all who call, visit, or email Career Services
* Actively assist peers with career-related needs including but not limited to:
* Rsum and cover letter writing/review
* Career exploration
* Networking and Outreach Preparation
* Job and internship search basics
* Use of Career Services online resources and Handshake System Overview
* Interview skills and mock interviews
* Job Applications
* Assist with functions/workshops, special events, and programs of the Office of Career Services
* Become experts on using resources of the Office of Career Services (i.e. Handshake, InterviewStream, Career Resource Guide, etc.)
* Serve as models of professionalism
* Present career workshops to classes, student organizations, residence halls, and clubs and groups
* Help create marketing materials including posters, emails, and social media content
* Promote events/services via classroom presentations, info tables, and face-to-face marketing
* Assist with staffing the reception area during Career Services operating hours (as needed)
* Manage multi-line phone system and email correspondence (as needed)
* Post jobs and internships on Handshake after approval from CS Staff
* Network with Alumni (as needed)
* Additional duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Qualifications/Skills Required:
* Must be a Full-time Junior or Senior in good academic and judicial standing (exceptional Sophomores will be
considered)
* GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred, remain in good standing, and keep a clear judicial history
* Past experiences with or interest in Career Services' resources and services a plus
* Available to attend weeks of training and ongoing training/weekly meetings
* Prior experience in a peer advising role such as a Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, Student
