In-house manufacturing capabilities include: Transfer Press Stamping/Forming, Grob Forming, Flow Forming, Aluminum Die Casting, Electron Beam Welding, CNC Machining & Drilling and Assembly.

FCC is seeking experienced, ambitious and dedicated Hourly Associate on a Varitey of Shifts.

Role

Supervisor for the quality laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of approximately 14 associates across 3 shifts—including shift Group Leaders—to uphold compliance to standards and to ensure efficient and thorough execution of tasks. Confirm associates’ outputs to other departments and management, including special measurement requests.
• Provide technical guidance to associates on measurements, equipment operation, procedures, blueprint reading / GD&T, etc.
• Ensure that proper training material, training plans, and competency confirmation are in place for associates. Provide on-going feedback to associates on technical and professional subjects to promote continuous growth.
• Complete special measurement requests for investigative support of all departments company-wide occasionally as needed.
• Manage the lab’s schedule and distribution of assignments to ensure outputs are completed fully and on time. Regular outputs include weld checks, incoming goods audit, outgoing goods audit, die core approvals, dimensional layouts, contamination testing, production start-up checks, material composition, service part audits, capability studies, gauge R&R, etc.
• Review initial parts tags and abnormal parts tags for basic process changes.
• Conduct basic programming of laboratory equipment.
• Oversee the QC hold area and support other departments in moving non-conformance parts forward promptly through the determination and execution of final disposition.
• Maintain a productive relationship with direct-reports and lead a positive work environment that promotes excellence, teamwork, and growth.
• Manage associates’ timeclock, overtime, and vacation time.
• Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure a quality product. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Additional projects assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 4-year degree in industrial technology, metrology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry or related field
• Six-sigma greenbelt
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Preferred Skills/Experience ( Candidates without these skills will still be considered)

• Supervising and team building
• Problem solving (Shainin, six-sigma, 8D, 5-Why)
• ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
• SPC (Statistical Process Control)
• Gauge MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
• PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Computer Skills: Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, typing
• Basic lab tools and hand gauges
• Technical writing
• Effective communication with all management and associates
