JOB TITLE:Production Planning Manager
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: VP of Supply Chain
Scope:
The Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities to ensure efficient operations within the paper converting plant. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead a team. The Planning Manager will work closely with various departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to align production schedules with business goals.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize plant efficiency.
· Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
· Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to address any issues or delays.
· Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
· Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and plan production accordingly.
· Manage a team of planners and schedulers, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
· Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all planning activities.
· Prepare regular reports on production performance and planning outcomes for senior management.
· Implement and utilize planning software and tools to enhance scheduling efficiency.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes.
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in the paper converting or manufacturing industry.
· Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Proficient in using planning and scheduling software (e.g., SAP, ERP systems).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Preferably having experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
· Knowledge of paper converting processes and machinery strongly preferred
· Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Office- Outlook, Teams Excel, Word, PowerPoint) also preferred
