The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing infection control measures within our 66 bed long term care facility. The Infection Control Coordinator will work closely with staff members, residents, and their families to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures in accordance with current guidelines and regulations
Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices throughout the facility
Provide education and training to staff members on infection control protocols and best practices
Collaborate with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and other stakeholders to address outbreaks and communicable diseases
Investigate and report any suspected or confirmed cases of healthcare-associated infections
Maintain accurate records of infection control activities and outcomes
Serve as a resource and consultant for staff members regarding infection control issues
Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and developments in infection prevention and control
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey
Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection control, preferably in a long term care setting
Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, regulations, and guidelines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
