Job Summary The Director, Finance is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the budget and forecast activities of the US MedTech Commercial business units. The incumbent is expected to effectively manage projects within the scope of responsibilities, operating autonomously within previously established parameters/goals/objectives. This position reports to the CFO MedTech NAM, leading a team of Financial Analysts and working closely with the Accounting & Controlling department within the US legal entities. Responsibilities Responsible to manage and coordinate Budgeting, Forecasting as well as Management Reporting & Analysis for dedicated business units within MedTech NAM (mainly Commercial operations in US plus Trading Goods PU). Strong business partner to support decision making process of the BU Head about optimizing business and managing product portfolio. Responsible to maintain & further develop Sales and Profitability Reporting within the business unit. Drive process / system improvements on planning & reporting within the business unit. Drive (or support CFO MedTech NAM to drive) initiatives in Accounting, Tax, Treasury and Compliance (e.g., cash flow planning and optimization within Fenwal Inc., implementation / roll-out of ROIC focus within MedTech etc.). Manage or support to manage ad-hoc projects (e.g., M&A activities including Due Diligence, business planning / valuation, sale-and-lease-back opportunities etc.). Partner with colleagues in other Finance / Controlling functions within the Group (e.g., Corporate, GBS) and support on ad-hoc requests. Manage a team, with a strong focus on developing team members professionally and to their full potential. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting, with at least 10 years of experience required and 5 years of managing people. CPA or CFA preferred. Master’s degree in management or finance preferred. Strategic, forward-looking thinker with an ability to come in and out of details, willing to roll up their sleeves, while still maintaining a big picture view. Experience with financial planning, valuation, mergers and acquisitions. Strong data analytic skills, including the ability to pull data from various sources and create effective models to support the company’s accounting position. Highly effective interactions with all levels of management as well as with outside auditors, consultants and independent third parties. Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills, building a culture of inclusivity in interactions with all business partners. Strong managerial skills: ability to motivate teams, develop staff and ensure an environment of accountability within the Finance function. Extensive business partnering skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex matrix environment. Leads with a vision to continuously improve on and challenge inefficient processes. Innovative, highly resourceful, and self-motivated. Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems as well as FP&A tools / systems.
