Job Description
Our client, a leading nutraceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Food Scientist to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:
1) Apply scientific principles in research, development, production, technology, quality control, packaging and processing of nutritionally designed foods and dietary supplements
2) Conduct basic nutrition research for the development of programs to support product utilization
3) Conduct bench top product development of nutritional food supplements, taking product from original concept to completion of manufacturing process
4) Research and develop nutrition and product parameters for unique applications in new market places
5) Research methods to support development of new product and program concepts
6) Evaluate raw materials and finished product contract manufacturers for product quality and process feasibility
7) Provide evaluation and recommendations for product improvements by addressing flavour, texture, nutritional value, convenience, composition and cost
8) Recommend specific ingredients, processes and packaging materials
9) Provide technical support to the current customer base
10) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the nutraceutical industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development

Compensation and Other Details
Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
