Job Description
Our client, a leading baked goods company, is currently seeking an accomplished Maintenance Superintendent to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:
1) Prepare capital asset requests for new equipment or facility modification, including justification
2) Prepare and manage the capital budget for the facility
3) Be responsible for overall day-to-day management and coordination of the facility inside and outside
4) Analyze packaging equipment for effectiveness and submit recommendations on cost reduction and production feasibility
5) Provide engineering support for all safety programs and be responsible for the safety performance of all maintenance employees
6) Develop layouts, work flow specifications and utility requirements, conduct time studies and prepare cost estimates for new installations and facility revisions
7) Develop drawings and specifications that will facilitate equipment layout by outside contractors or internal staff
8) Coordinate contract negotiations for work to be performed by outside contractors and ascertain that engineering specifications are maintained as the project progresses
9) Supervise the installation or modification of equipment by contractors or the Maintenance Department
10) Maintain control of maintenance parts inventories
11) Establish a continuing preventative maintenance program for all new and revised installations
12) Supervise maintenance personnel, as directed
13) Work with the safety coordinator to ensure all work to be completed and implemented projects meet safety requirements and standards prior to being released for use
14) Investigate new plant engineering processes and techniques for application in the operation of the plant
15) Track, report and explain energy use on a monthly basis
16) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the baked goods industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in maintenance
