Ferrandino & Son - Job Board is Hiring an Estimator Near Audubon, PA

Ferrandino & Son Inc., currently has an opening for an Construction/Project Estimator to join our team! The Estimator’s primary focus is on the estimating and proposal building process for capital projects. We want an individual that is ready to be part of a national team of professionals. This position is located in our Audubon, PA with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Review construction documents and understand the scope of work to accurately bid projects
  • Decipher and review blueprints and complex bid packages
  • Participate in bid review meetings, compose RFI questions, and create project timelines
  • Execute take-offs of construction/project documents; input them into internal databases, client portals and spreadsheets
  • Obtain pricing for materials and subcontractor costs for projects
  • Prepare cost analysis with online systems by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred
  • Participate in client meetings/site walks to collect data for accurate bid submission
  • Ability to manage projects after award remotely or in person
  • Firm understanding of building codes and expectations
  • Inform immediate Supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements,
  • Attends departmental meetings as required
  • Strict adherence to client deadlines
  • Additional duties could include, becoming inhouse expert on company specific technology and training office and field
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skill and Experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction/project estimating and/or project management
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • Solid knowledge of how to read and create detailed scopes of work
    • Ability to create dynamic proposals quickly for our national clients
    • Understanding of both large and small projects
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in varied geographic areas
  • Detailed work ethic
  • Client focused, understand that not all projects are the same
  • Minimum of entry level project management skills, ability to work with vendors and subs across the country
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to wear many hats in a rapid paced growth mode environment
  • Learner and educator mentality
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Excel, Word, Microsoft outlook, estimating tools ( B2W, HCSS etc…) digital mapping and takeoff programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Field experience essential
  • Professionalism and customer focus
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Organization and attention to detail

Additional Information:

This position will be a full-time salary position with full benefits including, medical, dental and vision plans, paid vacation, participation in the company 401K program, and paid holidays. All travel expenses will be paid with company credit card and governed by a daily per diem. Salary will be commensurate with candidate’s experience.
