Midland Recruiters is Hiring a Molding Department Manager Near Mauston, WI

Our client uses compression molding to manufacture parts for a wide variety of industries. Their molding department is the vital first step in their production process. The molding manager will oversee a team of supervisors, engineers, and press operators to ensure that production goals and quality standards are met. This position will work closely with both the plant management team and corporate team. The ideal candidate will have management experience in a manufacturing setting, including production planning and staff management. Compression molding experience is a huge plus, and any molding experience is beneficial. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the molding, bonding, secondary operation and finish and buffing departments to ensure parts are in conformance with customer specifications.
  • Oversee production scheduling to meet customer requirements.
  • Oversee all above department personnel, mentoring and training for optimal performance.
  • Performs defect analysis and cataloging for paint systems.
  • Make suggestions for improvement based off of the data.
  • Quality data analysis from sub-departments – drive improvements from the data.
  • Provide process troubleshooting support to molding processes and implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Technical liaison between engineering and manufacturing to resolve quality issues, drive appearance improvement and defect reduction.
  • Proposing the most cost efficient methods for production to leadership.
  • Support trial events, conduct testing and provide oversight as needed.
  • Work closely with CI efforts to identify and recommend methods for improving efficiency and reducing waste and assist with the purchase of new equipment.
  • Develop and implement tools and processes to improve molding performance, including quality, uptime and cost
  • Provide process and troubleshooting support to production processes and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Continually improve knowledge of molding and machining equipment and practices to improve quality and reduce costs
