Job Description

The Director of Sourcing will lead the creation of a robust sourcing organization, aligning with key stakeholders and executing strategies through a dynamic and talented team. This role is crucial to driving the success of Fetch/Brand Buzz by optimizing global sourcing activities including reducing costs, quality, bringing innovations to market and ensuring supply chain efficiencies. The role and responsibilities will include and not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities

• Global Sourcing Leadership: Own global sourcing activities, aligning retail and sourcing strategies, own supplier relationship management, and ensuring order execution.
• Strategic Development: Formulate and execute sourcing strategies to support retail growth, diversify sourcing models, and build a pipeline of innovative products.
• Risk Mitigation: Mitigate sourcing risks and enable disciplined growth through strategic supplier alignment and efficient supply chain management.
• KPI Achievement: Meet key performance indicators, including cost savings, on-time delivery, quality, and social compliance.
• Sustainability Champion: Promote and implement sustainability and diversity initiatives.

Key Functions

• Timely Product Placement: Ensure timely product placement with the right suppliers.
• Supplier Matrix: Establish and maintain a supplier matrix.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Drive innovation and develop best practices.
• Market Leverage: Identify leverage opportunities across different retail markets and channels.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Drive company sustainability initiatives.

Specific Duties

• Team Management: Build, lead and manage a high-performing sourcing team.
• Strategic Supplier Development: Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
• Risk Management: Direct country-of-origin decisions based on geopolitical and economic factors.
• Collaboration: Work closely with retail customer-facing teams and company leadership.
• Performance Tracking: Use data to track supplier performance and make informed decisions.
• Process Improvement: Develop and manage action calendars to ensure timely decisions and deliveries.
• Leadership: Take a proactive leadership role in sourcing objectives and problem-solving.
• Costing and Training: Manage and teach component costing.
• Business Process Definition: Define and implement business processes.
• Market Intelligence Sharing: Ensure regular sharing of market intelligence.
• P&L Management: Manage profit and loss for the department.
• People Development: Foster the growth and development of team members.
• Special Projects: Handle additional responsibilities and special projects as needed.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Experience: 10 years in global sourcing with a major U.S. brand or retailer, 7 years managing others preferred.
