**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - ICU to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to critically ill patients. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled nurse to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide direct patient care in our ICU setting, including assessing patients' conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and monitoring patients' progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including ventilators and other life-sustaining equipment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and patient outcomes.
- Participate in infection control measures, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning and disinfection.
- Perform phlebotomy and other lab tests as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including adhering to proper medical-surgical standards.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Stay current with the latest medical research, best practices, and regulatory requirements in the field of critical care nursing.
**Skills**
- Experience in a Cardio ntensive Care Unit or similar setting.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Knowledge of workers compensation law and the ability to apply it in a clinical setting.
- Ability to ventilate patients.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and protocols.
- Experience in ophthalmology and mammography procedures.
- Strong infection control skills and knowledge of hospital-acquired infection prevention and control practices.
- Ability to phlebotomize patients.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
The following experience is required:
2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience.
This unit cares for STEMI/NSTEMI, CP rule out, CHF, Noninvasive Ventilation, Cardiothoracic surgery after ICU, antiarrhythmic IV medications, peripheral vascular compromise, etc. Float to Med/Surg or ER to take CVCU/Med Surg holds
Required. MUST HAVE CARDIAC EXPERIENCE (not just ICU)
Flexibility Required.
Recent traveler experience - highly preferred
# of Beds: 33 bed cardiovascular care unit.
Patient Ratio: 1:4
