AboutFrazer and Jones have multiple openings available to support our foundry operations. We are seeking general laborers to support business on 2 nd shift. This role will learn various operational roles in the foundry and offers room for growth into other positions. 2nd Shift - 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Monday through Friday. Additional $0.45 / hour differential. Job SummaryUnder the direction of either the shift foreman or Foundry Manager, the laborer will perform a variety of tasks that include assisting with extra workload, covering absences or vacations, and supplementing the crew to meet production needs. This position requires working with manual dexterity, the ability to operate machinery and equipment, and has exposure to varying conditions from hot and cold weather, loud noises and/or dust among other irritants in the plant. Essential Job Functions
Test ductile iron.
Shovel sand to prevent machine downtime.
Operate Goff / QC Inspection.
Operate HIV AC.
Cover all foundry operations positions including: Sprue, Bull Push, Auto Pour, DISA Machine Operator.
Loads cores into the DISA Machine.
Operates fork truck.
Understands schedule and adheres to operational schedule for assigned shift.
Other duties as assigned by the shift foreman and/or manager.
EducationHigh School Diploma, GED and/or the ability to understand written and spoken fundamental English. Language SkillsAbility to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, simple drawings, procedure manuals and internal method sheets. Experience
1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
This job may be good for an early career individual or someone who does not have work experience.
Job Type
Full-time, regularly scheduled 40 hours a week.
Union.
Works 8-hour shifts, may be assigned overtime via extending the shift and/or an additional day.
In-person, this position cannot be done remotely.
Pay
$18.41 - $19.74 per hour.
Receives overtime after 8 hours in a shift and 40 hours in a week.
2nd and 3rd shift receives shift differential.
Paid weekly.
