Job Description
The Role
As a Communications Consultant you will help Fidelity's clients deliver critical information to their employees, retirees and other participants by crafting and delivering best-in-class inclusive communication materials through a variety of channels.
This includes producing high-quality, cost-effective communications solutions for distribution to plan participants.
Ensuring strong client satisfaction through the seamless execution of effective communications strategies based upon client needs and goals, and delivering high quality communication services
Responding to client inquiries quickly with answers that go beyond the stated need and delight the client
Using consultative techniques to engage with clients regarding communication services and regulatory issues
Participating in and leading client meetings to review communication requirements, deliverables and alternatives, negotiating deadlines, and reviewing budget implications
Navigating the complexities of operational processes and tools to deploy participant communications
Coordinating the development and maintenance of project plans and status reports to manage and balance multiple projects with competing priorities
Managing projects "end-to-end" by coordinating all resources to ensure that deadlines and client deliverables are met
Balancing client needs with focus on cost management by proposing solutions that fit within budget constraints
Actively executing and billing any fee-for-service opportunities, including review and approval of all client communication expenses / billing as appropriate
Measuring and reporting successes / opportunities based on identified plan goals following execution of communications
Listening for new client opportunities and actively engaging the Fidelity service team to address those needs
Identify process improvement opportunities and working with appropriate business partners to implement changes
Participating in additional project management responsibilities and department initiatives, depending on capacity

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
BA / BS Required
Experience in employee benefits communication and / or financial services preferred
Client facing experience
3 years communications experience preferred
Series 7 and 63 licenses required (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
Working knowledge of communication process from writing and design through distribution across multiple media (print, internet, video)
The ability to write and / or edit readable, user-friendly copy and integrate graphics to enhance message
Demonstrated project management success
The ability to make decisions independently
Knowledge of the communications and financial industry and standards
Confident, polished professionalism and a strong executive presence in front of clients and key business partners
The Team
We support Fidelity’s 401k plan sponsors in the creation and distribution of Fidelity’s inclusive participant programs and innovatively deliver communication and education.
Your dedicated efforts will generate revenue for Fidelity by offering cost-effective, digital solutions that engage participants.
You will work internally with key business partners like marketing, product, legal and production to meet client needs, as well as externally with plan sponsors, consultants, participants and Fidelity’s vendors.
The base salary range for this position is $71,000-$120,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
