I am looking for a passionate Software Development Manager who is interested in moving away from hands-on coding to a 100% team/people management role.

As a Software Development Manager, you will manage a front-end development team building one of the leading sports and entertainment platforms globally. The platform covers sports, content, marketing, ticketing, TV, finance, media, and more. Amid tremendous growth, the business focuses on expanding its consumer base, driving new user acquisition strategies, fostering brand partnerships, and creating a unified platform. This role offers flexibility, creativity, and influence in the overall development environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage a front-end development team building the front end of high-traffic, large-scale global platforms, including ticketing, media, and on-demand services.
• Lead a team solving challenging problems and enhancing existing products for engaging user experiences.
• Provide leadership in developing applications with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes when needed.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Participate in product strategy, architecture, and planning meetings.
• Provide training for direct reports to meet personal and organizational goals.
• Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly assignments to all direct reports.
• Set manageable and attainable goals for the team.
• Develop and encourage open lines of communication to maintain and promote positive employee relations.
• Conduct quarterly and yearly employee reviews.
• Provide strong leadership in handling employee questions and concerns, and follow up on issues to ensure a positive work environment.
• Influence the innovation of products used by millions of users worldwide.
• Assist in changing the way content is consumed across various platforms.

Skills & Experience Needed:

• 5 years of front-end development experience with JavaScript, React, and Angular.
• 3 years of experience managing teams of front-end or full stack developers.
• Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Services.
• Experience with REST API implementations/frameworks; knowledge of XML & JSON is a plus.
• Node.js or Java back-end development experience is a plus.
• Proven success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
• Experience setting strong and attainable goals for the team.
• Ability to foster a cohesive team development environment and promote a blameless and constructive team culture.
• A team mentorship mentality with the willingness and patience to teach others.
• Ability to ensure policies and procedures are followed and applied fairly to all employees.
• Ability to create an environment that fosters team growth and promotion.
• Must be able to work within a hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field.

• Salary Range: $165,000 to $185,000.
