Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of yourself and colleagues in all aspects of work, including the safety features of each workstation.
- Set up and operate machines in various departments.
- Install dies on machines according to work order specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools.
- Set machine controls, regulating molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure, and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures.
- Load material into machines and remove parts from molds using hand tools as necessary.
- Trim excess flash/material using hand tools or press as necessary.
- Mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments in mixing machines according to formula; grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse if needed.
- Document processes and procedures to maintain records.
- Set up auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment in various departments, auxiliary, and secondary operations.
- Inventory, identify, select, and prepare resins for molding.
- Perform equipment maintenance and repairs; maintain and organize tools and equipment.
- Inspect parts for qualification.
- Select molding setup parameters for new tooling.
- Work productively and cooperatively with others while maintaining clear communications.
- Perform quality tests on each product type.
- Perform daily PM’s on tools.
- Serve as a backup for the Supervisor.
- Complete all administrative assignments timely and accurately.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Prior experience in injection molding is required.
