Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage and lead a small team, efficiently organize the warehouse, and handle various projects related to warehouse operations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our warehouse operates smoothly, maintains an organized environment, and meets business objectives and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Staff Management:

  • Lead, manage, and schedule a small team of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Train new staff and provide ongoing training to existing staff on warehouse processes and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide regular feedback, and promote a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates, as well as cross-functional teams, to achieve common goals.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Warehouse Organization:

  • Help plan and execute the layout of the warehouse to optimize space and workflow.
  • Ensure the warehouse is well-organized and maintained to high standards, making it easy for staff to locate items.
  • Manage the storage and material handling to improve efficiency and handling times.

Project Management:

  • Lead warehouse-related projects such as re-organizing storage, implementing new systems, or any other initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure projects are aligned with overall business goals.

Equipment Operation:

  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, following proper procedures and maintenance schedules.

Inventory Management and Quality Control:

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments of laboratory supplies.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and generate reports for upper management. Notify upper management when inventory drops below preferred stock level.
  • Inspect products for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that all items meet quality standards before shipment.
  • Provide stock counts to other departments as needed.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare shipments for delivery, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Coordinate with carriers and freight companies for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Unload containers.
  • Verify shipping documents and resolve discrepancies with suppliers or carriers.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety standards in line with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all staff are equipped with necessary safety gear and training.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize warehouse operations effectively and lead small teams.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using warehouse management software and technologies - NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Certified to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may require working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Some travel may be required.

Job Type/Schedule: Full-time - Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, weekends as needed
