Job description

Our client, a WNY manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Controller to join their finance team.

Job Description:
The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting the Controller in various accounting and finance functions. This role will involve handling month-end close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and assisting in the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing journal entries, reviewing account reconciliations, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, including gathering financial data, analyzing trends, and preparing forecasts and budgets.
  • Work closely with internal departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely responses to audit inquiries.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and support to accounting staff as needed to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build effective relationships.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
