Product Managers are regarded as experts within their domains and own the execution of the product vision and roadmap, constantly revising and optimizing product strategy in response to the changing industry practices. As a Product Manager on the Enterprise Data team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, management and execution of the enterprise data roadmap by leading efforts to build compelling data solutions that reduce friction and drive innovation within our customer experience. This individual will be regarded as an expert within the Enterprise Data domain. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties: Guide product decisions as an expert in data by supporting the organizational key objectives and data capabilities Ensure trustworthiness of data solutions, reporting and tooling by raising the level of data-driven behaviors of the organization through education, community and data strategy Find ways to leverage and improve upon the entire data lifecycle. Abstract insights from qualitative and quantitative insights in order to evaluate tough trade-offs to launch a successful data product Work with the Lead Product Manager, Enterprise Data Solutions to perform competitive analysis within and outside of the industry, introducing best practices and driving process changes where needed Create and maintain cross-functional relationships with departments across the company, including Retail Operations, Customer, Merchandising, Digital, Real Estate, Finance and additional internal IT Squads to understand needs and rally organizational support for initiatives Work with the Lead Product Manager, Enterprise Data Solutions to maintain a balanced product strategy that incorporates development of new initiatives and maintenance and improvement of existing initiatives Determine optimal approach to managing project dependencies and roadblocks and work cross-functionally with other departments and team to mitigate risks and set direction on projects Define and communicate scope, set clear goals and success metrics for the data warehouse and business intelligence tools, and communicate results throughout the product life cycle Additional duties and projects as required. Required Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree in business or computer related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4 - 6 years’ previous experience overseeing the development, implementation, and performance of products required. Demonstrated success in a startup or change-management environment. Background in project or product management, including the use and optimization of product management tools such as Jira (or related project tracking applications). Demonstrated success managing project budgets, timelines and resources. Experience working within an Agile development environment with an understanding of Agile activities such as Product Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Retros, and other Agile concepts such as burndown and velocity. Required Computer and/or Technical Skills Should have fluent knowledge and abilities with G Suite toolset, or Microsoft equivalents, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Strong appreciation for Cloud based applications. Experience utilizing and optimizing business intelligence tools is a plus. Exposure to relational and non-relational databases and ability to write and execute SQL statements against these databases. A deeper, technical understanding of database structures and their differences is a plus. Communication should be consistently constructive and professional. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Provide executive-level summaries of project status for presentation at monthly project Steering Committees. Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to analyze results at a micro and macro level and present findings. Makes routine decisions following established policies and procedures; collaborates with managers to gain assistance when complex issues arise. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
