Duties & Responsibilities
- Physically perform inventory counts based on cycle count program provided by Accounting.
- Investigate inventory variances and work with accounting, purchasing, and receiving departments to draw conclusions of root cause.
- Make recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate variances.
- Submit / create corrective action reports detailing findings to accounting department.
- Submit inventory adjustments based upon completed investigation.
- Use internal computer systems to input or extract data.
- Produce cycle count reports for audit purposes.
- Be the company expert on receiving, shipping, transfer, and work order processes.
- Support all material handling functions and assist as necessary.
- Maintains cleanliness of designated warehouse area.
- Perform all functions in a safe manner.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Accuracy of counts
- Accuracy of paperwork
- Timely submission of inventory adjustments
- Timely investigation of inventory variances
- Accuracy of material handling functions
- General understanding of inventory control, receiving and shipping functions.
- Proven ability to investigate and draw conclusions
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Spreadsheet skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and math skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize workload
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between warehouses.
- Ability to use material handling equipment – certification as required
- 2 years inventory control or shipping & receiving experience
- Ability to use warehouse and inventory management systems
- High school diploma or GED
- Warehouse environment
- Hands-on physical job – must be able to lift, stand, sit, bend, squat, reach
- Responsible for consistently maintaining safe quality food products by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring visitors, contractors and customers are documented on each visit in and out of the facility to maintain good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense/food security and HACCP controls.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
- Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
- Ensuring all safety work practices are adhered to.
- Exhibit an understanding of quality standards and the ability to speak to Finlays quality systems.
