The Paving Crew Laborer assists the foreman and crew with general tasks.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Prepare work areas by removing litter, debris, rocks, existing building materials, concrete, etc.
• Dig, spread, and level asphalt or other materials using shovel.
• Perform a variety of routine, non-machine tasks such as: Installing traffic barricades, cones, and markers, repairing pavement imperfections, marking obstacles for equipment drivers, setting stakes and digging and backfilling trenches and cleaning of job site.

• Ability to operate or initiative to learn to operate other equipment required on an asphalt crew.
• Assist other crew members as needed.

Requirements:

• Ability to learn how to use and handle tools and equipment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty. PPE includes; safety vest, gloves, hard hat and work boots.
• Maintain safety as top priority in accordance with company safety rules.
• Drug test required.
