Your Role

As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of backend and cloud infrastructure for our business portal. You will shape the way the team is developing code and mentor other Engineers.

• Build a great Product: Create a great experience for our business customers in our portal together with your team and shape the way we build our product by leveraging modern technologies. 
• Take ownership of our Backend: You will be able to share your technical knowledge and best practices, mentor other Engineers, as well as shape technical discussions to deliver the best possible solutions.
• Do it, do it, automate it: Simplify, automate and optimize financial processes and find the balance between using no-code tools such as Make or Retool (20%) and solid hard code implementation (80%).
• You build it, you run it: Build features and take ownership for testing, deployment and monitoring of your code. Yes, we believe in Serverless!

• Solid experience in software engineering with passion for backend engineering and a hands-on mindset. 
• Profound knowledge of Python and AWS (Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB). 
• Previous experience in Start-Ups or other fast-paced environments is a plus. 
• Previous experience in an agile development team. 
• Strong growth mind-set and the motivation to continuously improve self and team performance. 
• Fluency in English. 
• Knowledge of NodeJS is a plus. 
• Good understanding of CI/CD best practices is a plus. 
• Highly comfortable with serverless applications is a plus.
