Firebird AST is Hiring a Junior Strategic Communications Operations Research Analyst Near Washington, DC

Firebird AST is seeking an onsite Junior Strategic Communications Operations Research Analyst with strategic communications and change management experience to support the Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) in Washington, D.C. Some travel will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess knowledge of writing program SOP’s cataloging historical knowledge and maintaining continuity when onboarding new contract key personnel. Documentation shall include, but not be exclusive to the development of briefings, talking points, and outreach materials.
  • Communicate information about HSI and its Federal Law Enforcement systems through graphic design support.
  • Support communications with HSI leadership with briefings and reports to
    communicate outcomes and findings on work performed under this contract and
    how that work furthers key program milestones and connections to HSI via FCU.
  • Facilitate internal communications with all HSI internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess knowledge of drafting HSI leadership announcements to include whitepapers and PowerPoint presentations about key program releases, enhancements, and technical updates that will be distributed to all HSI offices and other Federal Law Enforcement agencies.
  • Assist with translating the technical updates and requirements so the end-users see the benefits and understand how these technical tools directly impact their workflows.
  • Develop communications to inform Special Agents on new techniques criminals are employing to further their nefarious activities and how the work performed under this contract and its results have uncovered new or improved investigative methods, tools, techniques for combating financial crimes.
  • Possess knowledge of strategic communications, training, operational research, and investigative consulting.
  • Possess knowledge of organizational studies and evaluations, design systems, and procedures.
  • Conduct work simplification and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist HSI in operating more efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop cohesive plans for communicating initiatives and events that are aligned to business outcomes.
  • Assesses and maximizes impact on target audience.
  • Creates content that is clear, engaging, and concise.
  • Captures key metrics and measures the effectiveness of communication solutions.
  • Identifies areas for improvement to enhance the effectiveness of communications and its ability to execute on business objectives.

REQUIRED

  • A minimum 1 year of proven experience in leading strategic communication efforts, public engagements, branding initiatives, and change management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Marketing, Communications, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
  • Current passport; some travel may be required CONUS (Continental U.S.) and OCONUS (Outside Continental U.S.)

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Communications, Marketing, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
