Description
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for creating, deploying, organizing, modifying, maintaining, securing, and supporting the video Surveillance Network and systems, including hardware and software installation and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.
  • Installs IP video surveillance equipment, network video storage, expansion equipment, low voltage cabling/termination and network components to support all aspects of security technology.
  • Ensures installations and maintenance projects are properly documented and completed within a predetermined schedule.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes complex system related malfunctions.
  • Maintains and is responsible for system programming.
  • Maintains surveillance system devices by supporting network, servers, and recording equipment within the system.
  • Routinely completes maintenance tasks such as system back-ups, recovery, and file maintenance.
  • Responds expeditiously to critical system needs or emergencies.
  • Maintains system data integrity, and network security for Surveillance Network.
  • Routinely evaluates network systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Will assist in management and maintenance of the network domain, firewalls, file servers, and workstation security updates and patches.
  • Ensures that the appropriate inventory is available and software licensing is updated.
  • Maintains a direct and evolving understanding of the surveillance platforms.
  • Repairs damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensures that the appropriate inventory of equipment and supplies is kept on hand at all times, orders and re-stocks, as needed.
  • Consults with management and vendors on specific types of equipment needed for certain surveillance operations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the company's facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Team Members.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
  • Attends requisite trainings and conferences directly related to surveillance technologies.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant's education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. FireKeepers reserves the right to verify the sufficiency of a candidate's education, training and competencies through the interview process and testing methods.
High School Degree or GED and five (5) years of experience, including two (2) years at a level comparable to an Access Control Surveillance Technician II. One year experience working in Firekeepers Casino Hotel surveillance/access control technical position II (ACST II.) Two years of work experience within a casino environment and/or surveillance system technician specializing in casino CCTV related computer systems and software. Experience with computer networking technology, terminology, hardware and software. Experience with Active Directory and Domain Controllers. Experience with SANS, directories, archivers, workstations, server assembly, installation and programming. Experience with Windows operating systems. Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols. Familiar with PHP scripting language and MySQL relational database management system. Knowledge of how the surveillance system operates and wiring infrastructure. Troubleshooting skills to develop and maintain complex systems. Experience or certification installing, managing or handling fiber optic cable and equipment. Ability to be "on-call" to respond on a 24-hour basis.
Ability to work on a ladder or a lift unit at various heights. Plan and implementation of surveillance systems in all future projects. Ability to take direction and apply cogent, logical reasoning to various situations. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess excellent observational and communication skills.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and experience with CCTV analog and digital video, audio, and recording equipment. Must possess excellent communication skills. Experience in gaming surveillance technology and knowledge of cabling standards. Should have experience in digital video capture and processing systems and formats. Must be familiar with and able to utilize software related to FTP and SSH communications. Must be able to utilize CLI within PC and computer networks. Possesses the skill to utilize network tools such as Wireshark and Nmap. Ability to utilize electronic, electrical and mechanical hand tools. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to troubleshoot effectively using a logical and systematic process
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment.
