We have recently expanded an opened a new location in the Twin Cities and are currently looking to hire a Design Engineer. This position is responsible for the design of fire protection systems and conducting all the steps necessary to ensure quality and compliance as well as coordinate with internal departments to ensure designs are completed in accordance with the building contracts. This position ideally would be onsite; however, it could be a hybrid position as well. 

What you will do:

• Design fire sprinkler systems and conduct hydraulic calculations for jobs. Submit plans to the general contractor/owner following specifications.
• Conduct surveys on buildings if needed.
• Finalize fabrication techniques with applicable departments.
• Complete final shop drawings showing all pertinent information.
• Use AutoCAD and Hydra Cad in the design of fire protection systems.

To be a successful Design Engineer you will need:

• An associate degree in Fire Protection Design preferred, and/or three (3) years of experience in designing using AutoCAD or Hydra Cad.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Strong aptitude in mathematical concepts, such as geometry, fractions, and measuring.
• A good understanding of commercial and industrial building construction.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
