Welcome to First Academy-Leesburg! First Academy-Leesburg is an accredited school located in Leesburg, FL. We provide a Christian worldview and a college preparatory program to students living in Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties. As a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports activities. We also offer various clubs and organizations that allow students to engage in leadership and service activities.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Social Studies Teacher High School. As a Social Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, teaching social studies subjects, developing curriculum materials, and fostering a positive learning environment. This is an on-site role located in Leesburg, FL.

Qualifications

• Must be able to explain when you came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
• Ability to teach AP US History and AP Human Geography
• If no AP experience, a willingness to take AP workshops paid for by First Academy
• Experience teaching World History, American Government, and Economics
• Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills
• Experience working with high school students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for education and a commitment to student success
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational trends
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
• Florida teaching certification or eligible for certification
• Master's degree in Education or related field is preferred
