Performance Standard

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for performing custodial and manual work in the area and cleaning of church facilities. Reports to Lead Custodian.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of facilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed
- Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor
Experience:
- Previous experience as a custodian or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of custodial practices and techniques
- Familiarity with floor care, including buffing and waxing
- Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners, shampooers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Skills:
- Ability to perform general cleaning tasks in various areas of the facility
- Floor care skills: Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, including buffing and waxing
- Custodial skills: Proficiency in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in a facility
- Facilities maintenance skills: Understanding of basic maintenance tasks related to custodial work
- Other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1 year of related custodial exprience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Interpersonal Relationships/Customer Service
- Developes and maintains cooperative and professional relationships with employees church members, the public. Effectively responds to routie inquiries and disputes.
Time Management - Plans and organizes daily work routine. Estalishes priorities for completion of work in accordane with sound time management methodology to meet strict deadlines.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Acceptable general background check, to include a local and state criminal history check.
This position is considered Essential Personnel and will be required to work during and following natural disasters and emergency situations.
