DESCRIPTION

We seek Christ-centered professionals who want to join a team of disciplined and talented superstars committed to working together to accomplish our mission. The Human Resources Associate will assist the Director of Human Resources in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions, and activities.

  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in the planning, designing, and delivering of learning and development activities for all team members of First Baptist Dallas (FBD) and First Dallas Media Inc. (FDMI)
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state employment laws/regulations affecting the church
  • Engage with new employees in the onboarding process
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources to manage the Professional Leadership Development Program (PLDP)
  • Access the effectiveness of performance evaluation tools periodically for improvements
  • Conduct an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of team members and make recommendations and develop innovative solutions that align with the PLDP strategy
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate instructional method for training such as individual coaching, group instruction, self-study, demonstrations, and computer-based training
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) platform, including the development of new material and conversion of existing courses for LMS delivery
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources to create and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to source viable candidates for open positions and to maintain a pool of candidates for future positions
  • Maintain detailed records of candidates via the Applicant Tracking System
  • Utilize the HRIS software tools to assess candidates, maintain proper records, arrange interviews, and provide necessary feedback
  • Work to effectively build a strong external employer brand by developing marketing campaigns to project the world-class image necessary to appeal to and attract qualified candidates
  • Coordinate and participate in the panel interviewing process
  • Participate in career fairs at local colleges and/or seminaries, such as Dallas Baptist University (DBU), Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), and other options to source suitable candidates
  • Maintain social media platforms and create social engagement with the talent pool
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Human Resources

Professional & Education (Certifications or Licenses)

  • Fully committed to the Mission and Core Values of First Baptist Dallas
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent phone, email, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong interviewing skills
  • Prior experience using Paycom (HRIS), a plus
  • Strong MS Office Skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have 3-5 years of progressive human resources responsibility
  • Knowledge of benefits and compensation programs
  • Must have basic knowledge of payroll processing
  • Knowledge of employment laws and common HR practices
  • Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor
  • Must handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Bachelor’s degree or specialized training obtained through experience performing duties and responsibilities of an HR Generalist
  • SPHR or PHR Certification preferred but not required

Physical

  • Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to walk, bend over, stoop, and reach
  • Ability to physically lift up to 10 lbs.
