Position Title: Homebound Instructor 

Position Summary: 

The Homebound Instructor provides in-home, in-community, and virtual instruction to multiple school districts in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The homebound instructor will implement one-to-one individualized instruction with students.

Job Responsibilities: 

1. Plan instruction that follows the district-approved curriculum for the assigned grade level and subject area.
2. Plan instruction consistent with the Individualized Education Program (IEP), where applicable.
3. Assess student abilities and needs using both formal and informal methods.
4. Develop teaching methods that are appropriate for the learning objectives and the individual needs of the students.
5. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
6. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, the school district, and the program coordinator regarding the student's progress
7. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.

Education, Experience and Requirements: 

1. Bachelors degree in applicable field(psychology, social work, education, special education) required.
2. Must be willing and able to complete background checks required per New Jersey law. 
3. Must have an active NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification
4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
5. Must possess interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with children and parents/guardians.
6. Must display a professional attitude.
7. Must possess the ability to be physically mobile, with or without reasonable accommodation, so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
8. Must be able to physically assist with evacuating children during emergency situations.
