First Children Services is currently seeking a Lead Registered Behavior Technician to join our team! We are a family-owned, family-operated, and family-focused organization. Our STRIVE Autism Center is a multi-site, behavioral health and ABA center. At STRIVE, we provide diagnostic evaluations, followed with evidence-based therapeutic services such as psychotherapy and ABA. Position Summary: The Lead RBT is a full-time position whose primary role is the support of the STRIVE clinic. He/She will be a leader and will provide supervision and oversight of the clinic staff when the BCBA is not present. The Lead RBT is responsible for following the master clinic schedule, developing clinic lesson plans, and updating targets and objectives as appropriate.. The Lead RBT is also responsible for implementing the goals and objectives outlined in the individual treatment plans and behavior supports plans. The Lead RBT will maintain confidential files and will ensure that all clinic services are provided in a caring and respectful way in keeping with all relevant policies and procedures. The Lead RBT will assist BCBAs with completing skill and behavioral assessments, writing programs, modeling interventions, and providing training / support to those who work with individual learners.

Job Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities:

- Maintains a minimum of 28 billable hours/week based on staffing and other organizational needs

- Provides direct clinical services to assigned caseload as outlined in IEPs or insurance authorizations

- Provides additional ABA therapy sessions as needed, including working as a substitute therapist on cases requiring coverage

- Records data following measurement systems outlined on datasheets and in electronic data collection systems

- Completes all required paperwork for direct services

- Scores at least 80% on monthly feedback tools assessing consistent and accurate implementation of clinical programming

Program Management and Clinic Oversight:

- Assists BCBAs with creating, maintaining, and updating program materials

- Assists the clinic team with providing training to new therapists, including creating synchronous, on-site training opportunities and demonstrating fluency with Behavior Skills Training techniques - Organizes and maintains program materials and resources at assigned clinic location

- Assists the clinic team with creating and building programming on Central Reach

- Assists the clinic team with skill and behavioral assessments, including taking baseline data, probing skills, and summarizing assessment data for treatment plans

- Assists the clinic team with the completion of required clinical documents, including FBAs, BSPs, individual treatment plans, and insurance authorizations

- Develops, organizes, and oversees group activities in the clinic

- Ensures group activities are functional, age-appropriate, and align with individual treatment plan goals

- Assumes the role of the supervisor on duty in the absence of the Clinic Director and remains physically on-site in the center during client hours in the absence of the Director; collaborates with the Director to ensure a supervisor is available to open and close the clinic each day

- Ensures BTs/RBTs maintain appropriate engagement with their clients and follow the clinic schedule and adhere to relevant policies and procedures while the supervisor on duty

- Ensures all clients receive quality clinical programming within assigned clinic

- Ensures all clients have meaningful access to socialization opportunities with peers and participate in group instruction and activities at their skill level

- Ensures client programs and schedules are individualized to each client while still aligned with the overall programming/schedule of the clinic

- Ensures all staff remain fully engaged and interactive with their clients at the clinic, including actively contriving learning opportunities and engaging with toys/materials in new and creative ways

- Fosters a fun learning environment for all children served within assigned clinic

- Ensures physical clinic environment meets regulatory standards, including compliance and cleaning standards within First Children’s Health & Safety Audit

- Ensures physical clinic is neatly decorated in kid friendly, engaging materials (i.e., with a variety of sensory modalities) aligned with weekly/monthly themes

Supporting Responsibilities:

- Meets with direct supervisor on a regular, pre-determined schedule (minimally once a week)

- Creates schedule on CentralReach one week prior to service delivery

- Completes all required paperwork for direct services

- Converts appointments to his/her timesheet on CentralReach as soon as possible after the appointment

- Submits required paperwork for billing

- Completes 20 hours of training annually

- Ensures appropriate documentation is submitted for any approved, external trainings that he/she completes

- Maintains RBT credential

- Maintains CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications

- Follows policies, procedures and standards of professionalism as outlined in employee handbook

- Completes all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and/or clinical team

Education, Experience and Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, social work or a related field of study preferred

• Enrolled in a master’s degree program to obtain their BCBA certification (required)

• Receiving Fieldwork Experience hours toward Behavior Analyst certification through First Children’s mentoring program required (Note: An employee in the Lead RBT role can maintain in the Lead position for no more than 6 months following completion of their fieldwork experience program)

• Experience working with children ages 0-21 providing in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; teaching activities of daily living (ADLS)

• Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred

• Must have Monday – Friday availability from 8a – 6p as needed for client sessions (both in the clinic and in surrounding locations) and clinic coverage

• Clearances (current within 90 days)

o PA or NJ Child Abuse Clearance

o PA or NJ Criminal Clearance o PA or NJ Federal Criminal History Record

o PA or NJ Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release – to be completed for each employer where the candidate worked with children

• Completed Mandated Reporter Training

• Completed Arrest and Conviction Report

• Completed Tuberculosis (TB) screening valid within 3 months

• Possession of a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation

• Must be at least 21 years old.
