First Citizens Bank is Hiring an Associate - Renewable Energy Project Finance - Hybrid Near New York, NY

Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze detailed financial models prepared by clients to evaluate lending opportunities
  • Prepare debt sizing models and sensitivities
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare Q&A logs for potential lending opportunities
  • Review consultant reports from independent engineers, insurance consultants, appraisal, and power market consultants
  • Prepare internal credit memos
  • Prepare marketing materials for potential clients and lenders
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and power markets
  • Train junior team members on modeling and other job responsibilities
Responsibilities

  • Work closely with relationship managers and senior underwriters to prepare and structure proposals for new business opportunities
  • Help support the internal credit approval process with the review, preparation and presentation of credit approval materials
  • Support the due diligence process to review loan documentation, third party reporting, and participate in related discussions with the sponsor/borrower
  • Help coordinate closing process with capital markets, legal, treasury, middle office
  • Mentor the growth and development of analyst staffm
Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis. OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.

    Preferred
      • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative field
      • 2 years of experience in project finance at a corporate or investment bank, renewable energy company, consulting firm, or renewables focused private equity or private credit fund.
      • Outstanding financial modeling skills
      • Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort interacting with clients and consultants
      • Knowledge of tax equity and debt structures used in the renewable space
      • Knowledge of VBA (a plus)
      • Strong attention to detail and very organized
      • Strong time management skills
      • Takes pride in work product
      • Team-player, enjoyable to work with
If hired in New York, the base pay for this position is generally between $110,000 and $130,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
