Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop all external marketing messages, advertising, promotion and public relations.
• Develop all internal marketing messages, programs and policies.
• Liaise with media suppliers for optimum positioning, discounting and message density.
• Ensure all advertising messages, campaigns and promotions comply with all laws, company policies and acceptability of target markets.
• Monitor and analyze marketing trends.
• Studying competitors’ products, services and methods used to market them.
• Exploring ways of improving existing products and services for increasing profitability.
• Update and manage messaging on Facebook, website, mobile app and North Branch sign.
• Front-end management of the bank’s requests for donations.
• Seeking out and offering employee community volunteer opportunities.
• Able to plan, budget and execute bank hosted events throughout the year.
• Back up for human resources (processing payroll and answering employee requests).
• Ability to work with and create digital marketing content.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Degree in marketing desired, communications or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in marketing, sales, customer service and a business environment are preferred.
• Proactive with a self-starting initiative who can produce results with minimal supervision.
• A solid understanding of the market area First State Bank & Trust operates in.
• Have a deep knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts.
• Ability to think creatively in order to connect with what motivates people.
• Be an excellent communicator, team player and networker.
• Solid decision making and analytical skills and represent the bank in a professional manner.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential.

The Marketing Director position includes direct marketing, research, public relations, branding, communications, event planning and advertising in multiple media outlets. It also requires you to work alongside a wide range of people, both internally and externally. The President of the bank expects to be kept up to date with all activities of the department. A high degree of confidentiality is essential.
