Medical Assistant/CNA, Drug and Alcohol Treatment
First Steps Recovery is the Valley's leading substance abuse treatment provider for persons suffering from alcohol and/or substance use disorders. Our inpatient detox and residential treatment facilities in the Clovis, and the foothills 20 miles East, we provide a full continuum of care for those individuals searching for help.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Chart Auditing and Chain of Custody Documentation for Medication.
• Working with a team of dedicated, focused and caring individuals to provide the highest possible quality of care for patients struggling with alcohol and substance abuse recovery.
• Overseeing detoxification protocols and monitoring clients for symptoms of withdrawal associated with detoxification.
• Overseeing patient self-administration of medication.
• Following your scope of practice, code of conduct, and the ethics outlined within all supervising agencies
• Maintaining legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality.
• Keeping patient charts updated, complete, and signed within electronic medical records
• Transportation of patients to groups, appointments, labs, etc.
• Provide and direct housekeeping services to maintain clean and sanitary conditions throughout the facilities.
• Occasionally prepare meals.
• Participate in staff, treatment team and leadership team meetings as appropriate.

Competencies:

• Associates level medical training (CNA, MA, etc.) preferable but not required
• Ability to multi-task, delegate and accept delegation, manage client care, maintain facility standards and work within a team with singular focus, to change lives.
• Desire to assist those with chemical dependency in their recovery.

Qualifications:

• AA or equivalent degree in Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or equivalent
• Computer literate
• Excellent communication skills
• Maintain valid auto insurance and driving record of 2 or fewer points with no DUI on record
• Must be willing to work with a wide variety of symptoms related to chemical dependency and mental health
• Minimum of one year of sobriety if in recovery, currently enrolled with supervising agency
