Facility Supervisor Job Opening
First United Methodist Church of Florence is seeking a dedicated and skilled Facility Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, operation, and security of our church facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility maintenance, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our congregation and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC systems, including monitoring, scheduling, and coordinating repairs
- Perform minor building repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
- Supervise custodial services and maintain cleanliness between contracted services
- Manage inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Coordinate event setup and breakdown
- Schedule and oversee significant repairs and maintenance projects
- Arrange maintenance and repairs for church vehicles
- Ensure facility security and conduct safety inspections
- Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping and debris removal
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training a plus
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, HVAC systems, or related field
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks
- Basic computer skills; advanced knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of safety and security practices
- Availability to work flexible hours, including Sundays and occasional evenings
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Capability to perform manual labor and operate maintenance equipment
- Reports to: Senior Pastor and Chairperson of Trustees
- Hours: Full-time (weekday schedule negotiable to allow for Sunday morning coverage)
- Compensation: $36,000 annually
- Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, and personal time per personnel policy; no health insurance or pension benefits at this time
