Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our private school team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our students, particularly those with autism, in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. This role is an excellent opportunity to work closely with our experienced educators, contribute to lesson planning and curriculum development, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with autism, and develop strategies to promote their academic and personal growth.
- Implement classroom routines, manage classroom behavior, and maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
- Support the lead teacher in preparing materials and resources for lessons, and assist with setting up the classroom.
- Participate in lesson planning, including developing and implementing math lessons that align with the curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers, providing regular updates on student progress and behavior.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and refine the curriculum, ensuring that it meets the needs of all students.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as recording student attendance and maintaining classroom records.
Skills
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs.
- Strong understanding of Montessori teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
- Proficiency in math and experience teaching math to students of various ages and abilities.
- Familiarity with special education and autism support.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing classroom situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; teaching certification or bachelor's degree preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
