Accountant

Our client is a rapidly growing firm that has a newly created Accountant opportunity. They are seeking someone with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1-3 years of experience and a strong understanding of GAAP. The role has a ton of growth potential as the company continues to expand.

Responsibilities:

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Coordinates with accounts payable to ensure all invoices are received, entered and paid properly.
• Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and credit card payments.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
• Perform general office duties such as sorting and delivering incoming mail, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
• Prepare band deposits by compiling data, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to bank.
• Calculate and prepare checks for permits, taxes, and other payments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
