FirstPro is now accepting resumes for a Civil Engineer & Project Manager position based in Richmond, VA. This role will focus on support preparation of land development design and permitting documents for Solar and BESS projects. This is a permanent, direct-hire role that can provide benefits.

This position cannot be worked remotely. Also, candidates must have their PE license or be able to obtain it within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record and support preparation of land development design and permitting documents for Solar and BESS development projects.
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems design
• Responsible for project financial performance and routine client communications
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders and community members to discuss project design and permitting issues
• Manage work and professional development of junior-level staff
• Manage small, medium, and large projects
• Develop new project opportunities and assist with proposal development and submissions

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
• 8 years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects
• PE licensure in Virginia or obtain within 6 months
• Proficient in site layout, grading, and stormwater management
• Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
• Understanding of Energy market in Mid-Atlantic region; especially Virginia 0
• Experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office. ArcGIS skills desirable.
• Skills to implement the integrated services approach. Comprehensive understanding of design, details, and construction drawing preparation including site layout, grading, erosion control and stormwater management.
• Knowledge of land development construction, construction materials and detailing. Detail drawings, sections, and material specifications.
